The main responsibilities of this role are to undertake risk-based, first line Assurance activities in accordance with agreed timetable and provide support and guidance to the wider team on regulatory matters; perform Compliance Monitoring Tests on all areas of the business and report to Board on findings; together with recommended Action Plans. The role also requires the individual to act as MLRO for the Jersey business and MLCO for the business.
Essential skills/experience:
+ The successful candidate must have 3-4 years similar experience, preferably within a Lending environment with strong technical knowledge of the sector.
+ An excellent understanding of the Jersey AML Regulatory requirements and a professional qualification (e.g. ICA) is desirable.
+ Strong written and oral communication skills as well as the ability to apply knowledge practically and pragmatically with an understanding of the commercial environment.
+ Confident in dealing with Senior Executives / Board members.
+ Excellent interpersonal skills are an essential requirement to develop close working relationships with colleagues both in the Channel Islands and in the UK.
+ Self-motivated and capable of prioritising and organising workloads as required. Proactive and flexible.
