Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manager to join their Fund Accounting team.
The role will focus particularly on delivery of technically accurate accounts and periodic reports for a varied portfolio of fund clients in accordance with agreed deadlines.
You'll also be responsible for client relationship management, mentoring and coaching of junior team members and supporting fund administration colleagues.
About the role
- Effectively manage the day to day activities of team members reporting to you, ensuring work is planned and allocated in order to meet client requirements including deadlines
- Collaborate with colleagues in the legal and administration roles to provide the best possible solution to client needs
- Ensure work is completed efficiently and cost effectively
- Ensure the timely update of financial reporting records for deadline monitoring and reporting purposes
- Adhere to polices and guidance on individual team member objective setting, periodic performance reviews and development plans
- Review accurate and timely financial statements including complex accounting work
- Review monthly, quarterly and bi-annual reports
- Maintain accurate and up to date accounting records in the client entity databases (including Viewpoint, PCS and Yardi)
- Ensure you have and maintain a detailed understanding of the transactions you are dealing with and liaise with your line manager on a regular basis
- Build and develop relationships with clients, auditors and third party service providers
- Collaborate with client administration and other colleagues to resolve accounting queries, providing explanations and accounting support as and when required
About you - essential requirements
- Qualified ACCA/ACA or qualified by relevant experience with good up to date technical knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS, including practical application
- Previous experience of accounting systems, particularly PCS (Investran) and Yardi would be an advantage
- Excellent working knowledge of Excel
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- A positive and flexible approach
- An aptitude for data analysis/problem solving
- Able to manage and prioritise tasks and time in order to meet deadlines
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
