Fund Accountant

Our client is seeking a Fund Accountant to join their team. 

Reporting to the Client Accounting Manager and working within the Jersey Fund Administration team, the role will be responsible for maintaining the day-to-day integrity of ledgers and assisting in the preparation of financial statements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing the financial statements following accepted accounting and auditing standards and internal policies and procedures
  • Daily bookkeeping – to record and maintain detailed accounting transactions, ensuring the accuracy of all entries
  • Perform reconciliations of bank accounts, broker accounts, investment portfolios, etc. to ensure that all transactions are accurately recorded
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure efficient completion of audits and financial reviews
  • Maintain good relationships with colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders, and assist in new client onboarding as required
  • Develop comprehensive working papers for audit and reporting purposes
  • Ensure the integrity of the company's financial ledgers and support bookkeeping activities
  • Manage workflow effectively to contribute to the team and company objectives in a timely manner

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Part qualified with ACA, ACCA or equivalent
  • A minimum of 2-3 years practical accounting experience  
  • Experience in a client facing role is preferable
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and competent with other Microsoft Office suites
  • Demonstrated high degree of numeracy and analytical thinking
  • Highly diligent and organised approach to work
  • Proficient with one or more leading fund accounting system/s (e.g. Investran, Yardi or ViewPoint)
  • 'Can do' and very positive attitude with a client service mentality
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to problem solve and select the most appropriate course of action
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and use own initiative
  • Possess effective time management skills and the ability to prioritise conflicting demands; and
  • Experience in Real Estate Funds is preferable
