Data Analyst

Our client are seeking an experienced data analyst to join their team.

As a Data Analyst, you will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to analysing and interpreting data to drive impactful decisions and improvements across the organisation. This diverse role is crucial to the business, providing actionable insights, optimising processes, and supporting key initiatives that foster growth and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, clean, and analyse data to provide actionable insights that support business decisions.
  • Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies across large datasets to drive strategic initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualisations using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Excel to present data in a clear and actionable manner for stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with business units to understand their data requirements and provide solutions that enhance operational efficiency and decision-making processes.
  • Elicit and document both functional and non-functional requirements related to data needs, ensuring alignment with business goals and scalability, security, and performance considerations.
  • Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data by conducting audits, implementing data governance practices, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, finance, and operations, to gather requirements, understand challenges, and deliver data-driven solutions.
  • Create automated processes for data collection and reporting, reducing manual effort and improving timeliness and accuracy.

Key Competencies & Skills

  • Previous experience in a similar Data Analyst role, preferably within the finance or financial services sector, with a solid understanding of operational processes and regulatory requirements.
  • A digitally savvy individual who enjoys exploring and leveraging technology to improve work processes, drive efficiencies, and who has a commitment to continuous self-learning.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data insights into actionable recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to enhance data processes and systems, focusing on improving efficiency, accuracy, and the quality of insights delivered to stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success in managing data-related projects and change initiatives using both waterfall and agile methodologies, consistently meeting deadlines and staying within budget.
  • Advanced IT skills, including proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools, as well as strong knowledge of data visualization platforms like Power BI and Tableau, and experience with query languages such as SQL.
  • Advanced analytical capabilities with expertise in tools such as Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and other data visualisation and reporting tools to support data-driven decision making.
