Compliance Manager

Our client is seeking a Compliance Manager to join their team. 

You will support the Group CCO and Jersey Head of Compliance in providing assurance that Regulatory Risk is being managed across the Group with a focus in supporting the Jersey Head of Compliance with the Jersey based Fund Services and Trust Company businesses.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the promotion of a dynamic Compliance and Risk culture in Jersey and across the Group.
  • Direct reporting to the Jersey Head of Compliance (key person).
  • Co-ordination of specific compliance projects including review and implementation of new regulations.
  • Supporting the Jersey Head of Compliance in ensuring the Jersey Fund Service Business, Trust Company Business, Alternative Investment Fund Service Business, various fund structures (including Collective Investment Funds) and other Schedule 2 Businesses remain compliant with applicable Laws, Regulations, Codes and industry best practice.
  • Pro-actively maintaining appropriate compliance and AML systems and controls as well as review of CDD records.
  • Working with the Jersey business to ensure policies and procedures remain relevant.
  • Assisting with training on AML, Client Due Diligence and other procedures.
  • Periodic compliance monitoring, entity and client reviews.
  • Entity and client monitoring and reporting for FATCA and CRS.
  • Assisting in preparing reporting to local Audit and Risk committees and Boards.
  • Overseeing investment breaches/operational risk events log for potential compliance issues.

Attributes or qualifications

  • Proactive mindset/Self Starter.
  • AML/CDD/KYC knowledge and experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrable experience in a Compliance role at a senior level, ideally in asset management or funds industry.
  • Strong open communication skills, organised, analytical and solution orientated.
  • Ability to identify material issues and know when to escalate them.
  • Enthusiastic & willingness to learn.
  • Strong report writing skills.
